Richard A. Schindler is Associate Professor of Art at Allegheny College. He teaches courses on modern and contemporary art history, the history of graphic design and illustration, and comic book culture. He has a B.A. from Gettysburg College, an M.A. from UMass-Amherst, and a Ph.D. in art history from Brown University. His interests include Pre-Raphaelite painting and illustration, comic book art and the graphic novel, fantasy and SF illustration, punk culture, and anarchist history and political theory.
